CONCEPT: Equilibrium is inspired by the history of the 1960s and the artistry of famous painter, Jackson Pollock. The complex and intricate linear forms in Pollock’s paintings often engulf the viewer and create what he deemed an equilibrium of his entire personality—the good and the bad. This design will reflect the balancing act of midcentury design, where a period of chaos brought about a style that prided itself on simplicity and functionality. This balance and equilibrium will be reflected in the material choices within the space with bold tile and simple wood panels, as well as the layout itself with a simply designed and decorated entertainment floor and a moody living floor.
