CONCEPT STATEMENT: The Keaton family's love for nature and personal connection with Autumn inspires a biophilic approach to combat their “pandemic slump.” This new design will evoke feelings of comfort and relaxation while taking inspiration from their favorite time of year. While the Covid-19 pandemic continues to put the Keatons’ life on pause, the leaves outside slowly turn brown. Michael’s father, David, feels this change. Since retiring and selling his landscape design company, David finds himself missing his passion for the outdoors. The incorporation of natural materials, seasonal color palettes, and biophilic design principles is the perfect remedy to bring back that fall harvest he’s been missing. This design will also reflect Michael’s passion for landscape photography, bringing in earthy tones and natural lighting, reminiscent of his favorite Autumn scenes. The addition of biophilic principles such as organic shapes and materials creates an ambiance perfect for capturing those family moments to cherish.
